I need to remove a stubborn shower head to install a water filter?

the box which is GE made says you dont need any tools which is what I did for the kitchen sink faucet (easy).But I can’t remove the shower head ,and I don’t want to crush it with pliers can any one help?

There should be a flat spot for a wrench to turn the head, in order to remove it. Good luck!
